Baidu's Apollo Go Takes Lead in Right-Hand Drive Robotaxi: First Fully Driverless in Hong Kong, Challenges Waymo in London

Baidu's Apollo Go has received approval from Hong Kong's Transport Department for fully driverless testing on Airport Island, making it the first fully driverless public road test in Hong Kong and the first worldwide in a right-hand drive, left-hand traffic system. Additionally, Apollo Go has partnered with Uber and Lyft's Freenow to start public road tests in London, becoming the only Chinese autonomous driving company to enter London's Robotaxi testing system. This marks a historic move into right-hand drive markets, directly competing with Waymo.
