Tencent Cloud Launches CodeBuddy NPC, a Process-Oriented AI Agent for Development

Tencent Cloud has launched CodeBuddy NPC, a cloud-based AI agent designed to be an 'AI native' in the development workflow. Developers only need to set goals, and the NPC can autonomously acquire context, complete tasks, and deliver results. The cost of first-round token consumption has been reduced from over 20k to about 2k, a decrease of over 90%. CodeBuddy NPC is deeply integrated with Tencent Cloud's CNB platform, which provides Git hosting, CI/CD pipelines, artifact repositories, and cloud-native development environments. The agent supports multi-role NPCs (product, tech lead, developer, tester) for collaborative engineering. It uses the 'AI Native Git' paradigm, where the Git repository serves as the AI's native memory. The CNB platform, iterated since 2018, serves over 100,000 developers monthly across various industries. Tencent Cloud also developed an agent efficiency optimization methodology covering reduction, standardization, efficiency, and standardization. CodeBuddy NPC can use different models for simple vs. complex tasks, such as DeepSeek or GLM. The agent has been integrated with Tencent Cloud's TAPD platform, and developers can experience it at cnb.cool.
