Study: 81% of 'vibe coders' in Russia are not programmers

A study by Bitrix24 found that 81% of vibe coders in Russia do not list development as their primary role. The core community consists of entrepreneurs (44%) and managers (12%), while only 6% identify as professional developers. Most use agentic environments: Claude Code (55%) and OpenAI Codex (54%). 72% of created applications operate autonomously and serve colleagues (61%) and clients (59%). Security remains a major risk: only 11% manually audit generated code, while 54% delegate code review to AI. 73% of respondents said vibe coding replaced a developer, with the proportion rising to 80% among entrepreneurs and managers.
