SpaceXAI unveils Grok Bot: a team of AI agents that divide tasks among themselves

SpaceXAI, formerly xAI, has unveiled Grok Bot, a software platform designed for a team of AI agents that distribute tasks during the day. Bloomberg reports this is another attempt by Elon Musk's company to keep pace in the AI race with Anthropic and OpenAI. The product targets a wide range of professional tasks, allowing agents to log into applications and websites, store information from previous tasks, and share details and context with each other. Grok Bot is part of a broader strategy to accelerate AI development after the company fell behind in the fast-growing agentic systems market. SpaceXAI released its first coding agent in May, competing with Anthropic, and later launched Grok 4.5, developed in collaboration with the US startup Cursor. In June, SpaceX agreed to acquire Cursor for $60 billion. The startup became prominent during the 'vibe-coding' era. Competitors are also moving towards agent groups; OpenAI's Sam Altman recently discussed with Washington lawmakers the development of models that coordinate their work. Grok Bot is already used internally by SpaceXAI in engineering, marketing, and operations; it helps sales find clients and draft emails at night, and finance automatically extract receipts. The goal is to simplify task distribution among AI agent groups. Musk's AI unit seeks to convince banks and investment firms to adopt Grok products. Last week, Musk announced significant AI progress and teased the release of Grok 4.6. Grok Bot is available via paid subscriptions in Cursor Ultra packages at $200 per month and Cursor Premium Teams at an additional $120 per user per month; SuperGrok Heavy users get free access.
