Sber's Robot Dogs to Patrol Moscow Streets in Test Mode

Sber plans to test its first patrol robot dog in the SberCity smart district on the west of Moscow. The robot will patrol the river park, detect emergencies, and respond to them. Trials will last several months, and if successful, the robot could be used for security across the entire district. According to Andrey Likhachev, CEO of SberCity, the robot can detect smoke, suspicious movements, or a person falling. When it encounters a dangerous situation, it will immediately transmit images to an operator at the situation center. The robot dog works in temperatures down to -35°C and can operate autonomously for about three hours on a single battery charge. Its design allows for additional equipment such as a loudspeaker, two-way communication device, and alarm button. The technology aims to speed up responses to incidents, especially in areas without video surveillance. Robot dogs are part of a broader trend: Yandex's delivery rovers already operate in 51 Moscow districts, completing over 1,500 deliveries daily. Previously, fictional 'fluff-sucker' robots went viral in Moscow, but they were actually 3D models added to real footage.
