The deal includes an undisclosed investment, but a source told TechCrunch it is multiple billions; Bloomberg reported $5 billion. SSI will gain access to Nvidia's Vera Rubin GPU platform, expected to increase compute resources by an order of magnitude. Nvidia said SSI has achieved significant research milestones. Sutskever stated that their research is worthy of scaling up and that the Vera Rubin platform will take them to the next level. SSI pursues a 'straight shot' research approach to build safe aligned artificial superintelligence without commercial distractions. The companies will also collaborate on advancing Nvidia's compute platforms. SSI has raised $7 billion to date, with a $32 billion post-money valuation, backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Alphabet, Lightspeed Venture Partners, GV, Sequoia Capital Partners, and others.
