Russian Company Develops Control System for Autonomous Robotic Dogs

The Russian company Q Group (a division of Qubot) has developed a control system for robotic dogs intended for autonomous patrol and security tasks. The system allows simultaneous management of several robots, storing up to 20 interactive maps, and provides real-time reporting of incidents. It has been tested at the Presidential Academy of the National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
The Russian company Q Group (a division of Qubot), a participant of the robot testing center of the Moscow Innovation Cluster fund, has developed a control system for robot dogs that can be used autonomously for guarding and patrolling various facilities. The system can control several robot dogs at once and stores up to 20 interactive maps. The operator loads a digital map of the facility via a web interface, sets a route and checkpoints, and the robot enters autonomous mode to perform the task. While patrolling, the robot avoids obstacles, analyzes surroundings using AI and computer vision, and transmits information about abnormal situations to the operator's situation center in real time. The robot dog can cover up to 10 km and work autonomously for up to five hours. Upon detecting people in restricted areas, vandalism, graffiti, smoking in forbidden places, parking violations, or safety non-compliance, the robot records the violation with location and time, supports it with photos and videos, and sends it to the operator. The violation is shown on the map, saved in the archive, and included in a final report. Scenarios and the list of monitored violations are customizable. During parking monitoring, it recognizes cars and license plates and reports parking violations. The robot can interact with people: it approaches a person in a restricted zone, gives a voice warning, or connects them to the operator via two-way audio. The operator can take control via the web interface at any time. Manual control has priority: first the on-site operator, then remote operator, then autonomous mode. The system has been tested at the Presidential Academy of the National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
