Prince Canuma, the developer of the MLX-VLM Python library for running vision-LLMs with MLX on Mac, has introduced a new project called Nativ. This is a full-fledged desktop application for macOS that wraps MLX in a convenient interface. Nativ is similar to LM Studio: it features a chat and a local API server for accessing models. The application automatically detected MLX models that were already downloaded to the Hugging Face cache, which is a nice touch.
