MIXED ceases operations: authors move to heise online
The German VR and AR magazine MIXED will stop publishing on June 1, 2025. The authors Josef and Tomislav will continue to cover VR and AR at heise online. All archive articles will become freely available.
After ten years, the German-language VR and AR magazine MIXED is ceasing operations on June 1, 2025. The magazine, which grew to over 17,000 German articles and more than 5,000 English articles, cited increasing difficulties for small independent online magazines, including changes to Google's search engine, growing competition for attention, and insufficient public interest in VR and AR to offset the downturn. The authors Josef and Tomislav will continue reporting on VR and AR daily at heise online, and Josef will also be responsible for the gaming website SPACE4GAMES, which will cover VR games. MIXED Plus subscriptions will be refunded, and readers can get a discounted heise Pur subscription. The MIXED archive will remain online and all articles will be freely available after June 1.
