Microsoft and Mistral have announced a new agreement to provide enterprises with more choice, control, and flexibility in deploying advanced AI solutions. In response to high demand for AI solutions, Microsoft and Mistral have announced an agreement to give enterprises more choice, control, and flexibility in deploying advanced AI. Microsoft will rely on Mistral's GPU infrastructure in Europe to strengthen its AI computing capacity and meet growing cloud service demand. The deal also couples Mistral's AI models with Microsoft's cloud, security, and compliance capabilities, allowing deployment across environments from public cloud to hybrid, on-premises, or network-isolated infrastructures. This fits Microsoft's 'Sovereign Cloud' strategy, enabling access to Mistral models via Microsoft Foundry, Copilot Studio, and Azure, with better control over data location and model usage, especially for public sector, healthcare, finance, and defense. Mistral's Medium 3.5 and OCR 4 models join Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio, and Azure Local users can run Mistral's open models in their own infrastructure. Microsoft's global commercial channels will accelerate Mistral's enterprise market presence. The announcement includes a multi-billion-dollar investment from Microsoft to support Mistral's computing infrastructure development, aiming for leading-edge computing power in Europe by 2030.
