Hint, a new AI startup co-founded by Martha Stewart, launched an app that serves as an AI assistant for homeowners. It helps with maintenance schedules, energy management, air and soil quality, insurance claims, and stores contracts and invoices queryable via an AI chatbot. Martha Stewart, a real co-founder with equity, is actively involved in refining the app's advice, especially on home and soil topics. The app originated in 2024 focusing on decarbonization incentives but pivoted to broader home management. Under the hood, Hint uses OpenAI's libraries and Gemini for image work. The iOS app is free with no subscriptions or ads, funded by $10 million from investors including Brian Kelly, Slow Ventures, and Tusk Venture Partners. Future plans include a premium subscription for power users and affiliate revenue from service providers.
