LinkedIn Now Lets Users Flag Posts They Believe Are AI-Generated
LinkedIn has introduced a new option for users to report posts they suspect are AI-generated. The feature, called "Seems like AI slop," is accessible via the three-dot menu on any post. This move follows the observation that language models have developed characteristic writing tics learned from the platform.
LinkedIn's product director, Hari Srinivasan, has decided to tackle the proliferation of AI-generated content on the platform. Users can now click the three dots at the top of any post and select a new option, "Seems like AI slop," to flag content they believe is created by AI. This decision is based on the fact that language models often exhibit distinctive stylistic tics, which they have picked up by training on the platform's own content. The feature aims to give users a way to signal such posts, although details on how LinkedIn will use these reports have yet to be fully disclosed.
