LG to Build Humanoid Robots with Nvidia Brains — Debut Scheduled for 2027

LG has announced a major strategic partnership with Nvidia to accelerate AI-driven manufacturing transformation and develop next-generation bipedal robots. The companies signed a memorandum of understanding at Nvidia's headquarters, covering testing of LG's wheeled robots, AI factory construction, and a roadmap to unveil a humanoid robot in Q1 2027.
LG and Nvidia have signed a memorandum of understanding at Nvidia's headquarters to accelerate AI-driven transformation of manufacturing and develop next-generation bipedal robots. Under the agreement, LG will test its wheeled LG CLOiD robots on a washing machine production line in Tennessee, build reference AI manufacturing platforms based on Nvidia DSX and Vera Rubin hardware, and develop an autonomous vehicle platform based on Nvidia Drive Hyperion. LG is actively developing a next-generation humanoid robot using Nvidia Isaac GR00T, with on-board computing, logical reasoning, and control handled by Nvidia Jetson Thor, and system safety ensured by Nvidia Halos for Robotics. The project integrates hardware under a One LG scheme: LG Electronics will develop actuators, LG Innotek the sensor system, and LG Energy Solution batteries. If all goes according to plan, LG will unveil a humanoid robot in Q1 2027. In H1 next year, LG also intends to build a reference AI factory using Nvidia DSX AI Factory based on Nvidia Vera Rubin hardware, helping construct a working 80 MW facility in Cheonan, South Korea. The partnership also covers the automotive sector, with LG aiming to develop a high-performance computing platform for next-generation AI-enabled vehicles based on Nvidia Drive Hyperion.
