In this week's AI news, OpenAI released GPT-5.6, but a model accidentally canceled subscriptions. Kimi launched a massive open-source model K3, while JetBrains debunked a token-saving skill. Also, OpenIDE Pro became publicly available.
OpenAI released GPT-5.6, a family of three models: Luna, Terra, and Sol. Sol, the flagship, accidentally canceled all Stripe subscriptions at startup BridgeMind. Kimi released K3, an open-source model with 2.8 trillion parameters, which outperformed GPT-5.6 Sol and Opus 4.8 on GPU kernel optimization and matched Fable 5. JetBrains tested the Caveman skill that promised 65% token savings but measured only 8.5% on agent benchmarks. OpenIDE Pro is now available to everyone without registration, offering Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, and Spring support. Cursor released Grok 4.5 with SpaceXAI, and Google introduced three new Gemini Flash models. Also, Russian schoolchildren won four medals at the International Cybersecurity Olympiad.
