Kimi Halts New Subscriptions Due to Compute Shortage, Prioritizes Existing Users

Chinese AI model developer Moonshot AI announced that as of today it has temporarily suspended accepting new paid subscriptions for its Kimi service. The reason is an acute shortage of computing power: the company is facing a lack of GPUs. All available computing resources will be directed to ensuring stable operation for existing subscribers. The decision comes amid a sharp increase in demand for AI services in China and limited GPU supply. Moonshot AI stated that current subscribers will not experience any degradation in service quality. The company did not specify when it will resume accepting new users.
