Overview of the latest Java ecosystem news: OpenJDK updates (Value Objects, JDK 27 and 28), release of WildFly 41, TornadoVM 5.1.0 with support for 8-bit floating point numbers on CUDA, LangChain4j 1.18.0 with new integrations, and Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications.
Under the Valhalla project, JEP 401 (Value Objects, Preview) has been updated and is now a candidate. Early builds of JDK 27 Build 31 and JDK 28 Build 7 have been released. WildFly 41 introduced support for executable JAR files and switched to JDK 25 in containers. Open Liberty 26.0.0.7 fixes 8 CVE vulnerabilities. TornadoVM 5.1.0 added support for 8-bit floating-point formats E4M3 and E5M2 in CUDA and improved scheduler performance. Apache TomEE 10.2.0, Java Operator SDK 5.5.0 (added support for RFC 6902 and RFC 7386 for JSON Patch), LangChain4j 1.18.0 (new BDI agent model, support for OpenAI TTS and Mistral Batch API), Micronaut Framework 5.0.5, and an experimental Quarkus Shim extension were released. Oracle announced Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications, combining no-code, low-code, and pro-code development directly within the Fusion environment.
