I tested a new Debian Linux loaded with local AI - see if it's right for you

Shadowfetch is a Debian derivative designed as a local AI workstation. It offers multiple setup profiles (Creative studio, Developer workstation, Gaming, Office, Local AI lab, etc.) and allows users to choose private local AI models and agents like Hermes and OpenClaw. The distribution uses Ollama under the hood and includes a Shadowfetch Assistant tool for AI interaction. During testing, installation failed repeatedly, so it could only be run from a live instance. Despite this, the AI performance was fast and responsive. The distro is very early-stage, developed by a single developer, and not recommended for production use yet. It is best suited for users who want a local, private AI setup without cloud services.
