Google is rolling out a large Gemini bar in Google Docs, but users can hide it or disable AI features entirely. The methods include changing a Gmail setting or installing a Chrome extension, though workspace accounts depend on IT admins.

To hide the Gemini bar in Google Docs, click Gemini in the menu bar, hover over Bottom bar preferences, and select Turn off.
