Google's new Gemini 3.7 Flash aims to outperform Claude Sonnet 5 and GPT-5.6 Terra in code quality

Google has released Gemini 3.7 Flash, just three weeks after 3.6 Flash, claiming it's its most capable work model for programming and AI agents, thanks to algorithmic improvements. It significantly improves code quality and outperforms competitors like Claude Sonnet 5 and GPT-5.6 Terra in Google's benchmarks, while being 50% cheaper than 3.6 Flash until year-end.
Google has introduced Gemini 3.7 Flash, a new model arriving just three weeks after Gemini 3.6 Flash, positioning it as the company's most powerful working model for programming and AI agents. Google attributes the rapid performance jump to algorithmic improvements. The model shows major gains in code quality, scoring 43.6% on the FrontierCode benchmark (up from 34.4%) and 65.3% on DeepSWE (up from 49.0%). According to Google's measurements, these results surpass Claude Sonnet 5 and GPT-5.6 Terra. The model also improves in web development, document understanding, and business process automation. Gemini 3.7 Flash is available via the API, AI Studio, and Antigravity, with an introductory price of $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens, 50% cheaper than 3.6 Flash, valid until the end of the year.
