Google DeepMind is scaling its SynthID watermarking and C2PA Content Credentials across Search, Gemini, Chrome, Pixel, and Cloud. A new AI Content Detection API on Google Cloud helps businesses identify AI-generated content. Partnerships include OpenAI, Kakao, ElevenLabs, and Meta.
Google DeepMind announced expansion of content transparency and verification tools using SynthID digital watermarking and C2PA Content Credentials. SynthID has watermarked over 100 billion images and videos and 60,000 years of audio. Pixel 10 was the first smartphone with C2PA for images; Pixel 8, 9 and 10 will get video support. Verification is now added to Search, Chrome, and Gemini app where it has been used 50 million times. C2PA verification rolls out in Gemini app, later to Search and Chrome. A new AI Content Detection API on Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform helps businesses spot AI content from Google and other models. Partners adopting SynthID include OpenAI, Kakao and ElevenLabs. Meta will label camera-captured media with Content Credentials on Instagram.
