The World Artificial Intelligence Open Source Competition (GOAI) held its 'GOAI Open Source Pioneer Party' global promotional events across Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Singapore, and Silicon Valley from August 1 to August 8, 2025. The events targeted global developers, academic research teams, enterprise tech teams, startups, and open source communities, featuring the competition overview, city-specific theme sharing, in-depth analysis of the four tracks, developer exchanges, and on-site team formation. The events highlighted AI trends and encouraged collaboration, with each city offering a distinct theme: Beijing focused on 'Agents Entering Real Business', Shanghai on 'AI-Driven Scientific Discovery', Shenzhen on embodied intelligence, Hangzhou on open source ecosystem building, Singapore on Asian AI innovation ecosystem, and Silicon Valley on global AI developer collaboration and production-grade Agent practices. Expert panels provided detailed explanations of the four competition tracks: Agent Infra, Boundless Agents, AI for Research, and Embodied Future, covering evaluation criteria, technical trends, and case studies. The competition offers a total prize pool of 5 million RMB, with the grand prize up to 1 million RMB, alongside support like technical exchanges, expert guidance, and ecosystem connections. As of August 8, nearly 9,500 teams from 34 countries had registered, and the competition is now in the final submission stage, with the deadline for preliminary submissions set for August 16, 2025 (23:59:59 Beijing time), and August 20 for the Embodied Future track. The finals and GOAI DAY will be held in Hangzhou on September 22-23, and developers are encouraged to submit via goaihz.com. GOAI is organized by the Hangzhou Open Source Artificial Intelligence Foundation, aiming to build a sustainable and globally impactful AI open source ecosystem.
