Gigabyte has introduced the Aorus P1600W power supply unit with a nominal power of 1600 W and an 80 Plus Titanium certification. The unit is designed for powerful workstations with multiple graphics cards for local AI tasks or high-end gaming PCs, and features an integrated color LCD display.
Gigabyte has launched the Aorus P1600W power supply unit, branded PCIe 5.1 AI TOP. Despite the name, it contains no AI; however, the 1600 W unit with 80 Plus Titanium certification is intended for powerful workstations with multiple GPUs for local AI work or very powerful gaming PCs. It features an integrated color display and offers two standard 12V-2×6 connectors, each capable of delivering up to 600 W to a GPU, plus two cables with 8-pin connectors converting to one 12+4-pin 12V-2×6 connector, allowing powering up to four graphics cards at 300 W each when all connectors are used. The dimensions are 150 × 160 × 86 mm, making it more compact than many other units of similar power. Gigabyte uses GaN MOSFET transistors, Japanese capacitors, a digital power scheme, and a single +12 V rail. The unit complies with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards and handles peak power consumption three times the graphics card load and two times the total system load. The 80 Plus Titanium certification ensures efficiency up to 94% under typical load. The Aorus P1600W does not have a dedicated AI processor or controller for power management; the AI TOP label links it to Gigabyte's product line tested for prolonged local AI tasks. Integration with the AI TOP utility allows monitoring power consumption and other system information during AI model operation. The built-in Edge View LCD displays output power, voltage, temperature, and fan speed in real time, and can also show user videos. Cooling is provided by a 140-mm dual ball bearing fan with semi-passive mode and a reverse rotation function for dust removal at startup or via software. The price of the Aorus P1600W has not been announced.
