Claude chat transcripts leaked via Google search

AnthropicAnthropic
Private conversations with Anthropic's Claude chatbot and Artifacts app data appeared in Google search results, exposing medical records, confidential company documents, and minors' personal information. Anthropic blamed users for publicly sharing links, while Google noted it only indexes publicly accessible pages.
Numerous conversations with Anthropic's Claude chatbot and data from Artifacts mini-apps became publicly accessible through Google search. Among the exposed data were medical records, confidential company documents, and names and phone numbers of minors. The issue likely stemmed from Claude's "Share conversation" feature, which creates links that allow anyone with the link to view the conversation. Anthropic stated that such links appear in search only if users publish them on publicly accessible resources like forums or social media. The problem has since been resolved, and the conversations have been removed from Google search. However, before removal, Futurism journalists found detailed medical reports, clinical trial results, documents with minors' names and phone numbers, internal company documents, and employee reviews containing personal information.
