According to Counterpoint Research, Micron Technology is expected to replace SK Hynix as the world's second-largest DRAM supplier, with its revenue surging nearly fourfold since the second quarter of 2025. The research firm noted that Samsung Electronics regained the top spot in the second quarter of 2026 with a 39% market share, driven by strong conventional DRAM pricing, which is expected to support profitability in the current quarter. Meanwhile, SK Hynix's share fell to 26% in the second quarter from 39% a year earlier, pressured by lower HBM pricing and early long-term supply agreements.
