AgiBot Restructures Leadership Ahead of IPO: Huawei Veterans Dominate as Google Scientist Departs Partner List

On August 3, AgiBot updated its partner and board team list on its official website. The partner team grew from seven to nine, adding three senior executives: Xiong Yan, Zhu Jie, and Zhang Xiuzheng. The new lineup includes members from Huawei, Google, Tencent, DJI, and Cambricon, covering AI R&D, product engineering, global commercialization, government relations, and organizational building. Notably, at least five of the nine partners have Huawei backgrounds, including founder and CEO Deng Taihua, who formerly served as Huawei's vice president and led the Kunpeng and Ascend AI computing ecosystems. Luo Jianlan, who joined AgiBot in April 2025 as Chief Scientist after working at Google X and DeepMind, is absent from the new partner list. AgiBot responded to rumors of his departure, stating it was an internal role adjustment and he has not left, but provided no further details. The leadership changes occur as AgiBot accelerates production, with the 15,000th embodied robot delivered on June 28, and has initiated its Hong Kong IPO process on July 24, with reported valuations between 36.3 and 43.3 billion yuan. The company has shown rapid growth, from 6 prototype robots in 2023 to over 10,000 units by March 2026, and revenue rising from 300,000 yuan in 2023 to over 1 billion yuan in 2025.
