Adobe releases plugin adding 70 tools to ChatGPT

At the end of last year, Adobe used OpenAI's Apps SDK to integrate Photoshop, Acrobat, and Adobe Express into ChatGPT. Now, via a plugin, Adobe has added nearly its entire suite of creative applications to ChatGPT, granting users access to more than 70 Adobe tools including Photoshop, Premiere, Acrobat, Lightroom, Illustrator, and InDesign. To add the extension, users open ChatGPT's settings menu, navigate to the plugins section, select the Adobe plugin, and activate it by typing @Adobe in the prompt bar. Adobe says the plugin works best in OpenAI's Codex coding app and the recently released Work Suite. While the integration can be used without signing into a Creative Cloud account, logging in allows saving work between sessions and accessing cloud files, as well as using Adobe's generative models via Adobe Firefly. Adobe expects people to use the integration for tasks like photo editing, creating marketing videos, and generating PDFs, though full versions of its tools remain available for precise control and complex tasks. Forest Key, vice president of Adobe Firefly and agentic AI, emphasized that the plugin does not replace flagship apps professionals rely on daily. The plugin is available to users worldwide starting today.
